This world is in turmoil, we have Brexit hanging over us, knife crime is on the increase, climate change is a big issue at the moment, wherever you turn in this world, there is discord and uncertainty.
When I am faced with difficulties, I will always turn to prayer because I believe God hears and answers prayer.
I can say this with certainty because I have experienced it. I have seen impossible situations become possible when I've prayed.
Actually, in the middle of writing this, I've just had another answer to prayer. You should try it.
My son's laptop was stolen from his car at 11.30pm in a shopping car park, the laptop contained all his work over the last five years and personal information, he was broken as he told us the story, all we could do was pray and believe, miraculously the laptop was found within three hours. That's God.
Jesus reminds us in the book of Luke 18 verse 1 in the Bible, that we should always pray and not lose heart, don't give up.
Some people will say, I don't even believe in God, so how can I believe in prayer, but whether you believe in God or in prayer, I find that when we are in crisis the first the first thing we will say is 'God help me' and I wonder if we should be saying, in prayer 'God help us', because our communities need help, the world needs help, perhaps a supernatural intervention is what the we need right now.
