Buses are being diverted in Cranbrook Road after a second police incident in Ilford this morning (November 1).
Officer were called at 9.58am to reports that a man had collapsed by NatWest bank, Ilford Hill.
A Met Police spokesman said: “Officers and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended and found a man in a serious condition.
“The man has been taken to hospital and we await an update on his condition.”
It is thought that the incident is not connected to a violent robbery by a group of men which took place metres away at the corner of High Road and Cranbrook Road at 3.52am this morning.
Redbridge resident, Hemendra Nagda said a section of Ilford Hill has been cordoned off.
“Buses that usually drive along Cranbrook Road have been diverted,” he said.
A LAS spokesman said: “We sent an ambulance crew and a single responder in a car to the scene.
“We treated a man in cardiac arrest and took him to hospital as a priority.”
The High Road also has a police cordon in place while officers investigate the robbery.
