A charity netball tournament to raise funds for those affected by the Grenfell Tower disaster is being held next weekend.
The event, organised by Essex Open netball club and Redbridge Sports Centre Trust, will take place at Redbridge Sports Centre, Forest Road, Barkingside, on July 16.
Ahead of the tournament, the club are seeking donations of food and water which be sold on the day and proceedings donated to the fund.
At least 80 people are thought to have died in the fire in North Kensington, west London, but police say the final toll may not be known until the end of 2017.
Coach Lisa Brown said that all the money raised will be donated to the Evening Standard Dispossesed Fund and London Community Foundation.
Each player will be asked to donate £10 to enter the tournament which will run from 8.30am to 5pm.
Coach Brown said she was delighted to see so many people pull together to make the tournament happen.
She said: “We all really wanted to help and its hopefully going to be a really busy day.” The total sum raised for the Evening Standard appeal has passed £5.3 million and emergency payments of £1,000 have reached almost every family who survived.
