A woman in her 40s has died after an incident on the A406 earlier this morning, near Charlie Brown’s Roundabout, in South Woodford.
Metropolitan Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, earlier this morning.
A spokeswoman said: “Police were called to the A406, near the Charlie Brown Roundabout Ilford, at 11:28am today to reports that a woman had fallen off a wall.
“London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended.
“The woman aged in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have not been informed.”
“Officers are on scene and enquiries continue.”
A London Ambulance spokeswoman said that medics arrived at the scene in less than six minutes.
She said: “We sent an ambulance crew, two single responders in cars and an incident response officer to the scene. The first of our medics arrived at the scene in under six minutes.
“Despite the best efforts of our crews, sadly a patient died at the scene.”
One lane on the A406 is still closed westbound.
