A Sikh motorcycle group were given “a warm welcome” by thousands of other bikers at a special ride to commemorate Lee Rigby’s death on Friday.
Ten motorcyclists from the Khalsa Bikers made the trip from Ilford, where the group is based, to Greenwich Park before travelling to a special memorial in Woolwich.
Fusilier Rigby had been stationed in a barracks there when he was attacked and killed in the street.
Khalsa biker Taj Ghatora, of Water Lane, Seven Kings, said: “The day was awesome.
“Even though it was a Friday and we did not get so many riders down as last year we still got a very warm welcome from everybody. “As soon as we parked up we were overwhelmed by the response.”
He also added: “What happened to Lee Rigby [in 2013] was terrible, so we should stand shoulder to shoulder with him and pay our condolences.”
In Woolwich, the riders drove past Rigby’s family who were out to wave at the riders.
The Khalsa Bikers will ride to Edinburgh next week to raise funds for Sikh Relief’s Nepal Relief Ride.
