A date has been seet of a vote on the redevelopment of a Camden estate.

One Housing has confirmed that a ballot will begin on November 14 for the proposals of a 410-unit complex with 290 homes at Juniper Crescent, in Chalk Farm

This is the second ballot to bulldoze the 120-property estate after neighbours voted against regeneration plans in 2020.

Currently, 50% of the new homes would be affordable. The housing association says this is "based on habitable rooms.

The housing association said it is “committed to continuing proactive engagement” with residents and that it is continuing to answer any questions regarding the proposals.

A spokesperson for One Housing said: “At our masterplan launch in July, we said residents would vote on the regeneration proposals in the Autumn.

“We have now spoken to the majority of residents and want to thank all who have taken the time to speak with us to help us shape the offer and designs.

“Last week, we notified residents that voting on our shared vision to regenerate Juniper Crescent will start on Monday 14 November and it will run until Monday 12 December.

“The voting process will be managed by Civica, an impartial and independent organisation, in line with Greater London Authority guidance.”

Despite having 28 days to vote on the ballot, members of the Juniper Crescent Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) questioned whether this was “enough time” as it previously called to delay the second ballot.

Eleonora Andronaco, secretary of the TRA, said: “The landlord offer would only be released two weeks prior to this ballot on October 28th.

“This is not enough time to scrutinise the offer properly, to ensure the estate makes an informed decision.”
