“A number of people” were believed to be in an Ilford house where two men were shot dead, police say.
Both victims, aged 23 and 30, have now been identified by police after reports of a triple shooting in Henley Road, at 12.16am yesterday (Tuesday, October 25).
The Metropolitan Police say they are “not yet in a position” to publicly confirm their identities, despite widespread online speculation about the victims’ names.
However they say the families of both men have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Another 30-year-old man, who was also shot at the scene, remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital.
A heavy police presence remains in the area as investigations into the murders continue.

Police have said that a car linked to the shooting was recovered in Ronnie Lane, near Manor Park.
According to a new appeal launched by the Met, there were a number of people inside the house at the time of the shooting.
Detective Inspector Matt Read, from the Specialist Crime Command, said: "This was a tragic incident that resulted in two men losing their lives and a third man being critically injured.
“We are in contact with their families and will support them as they come to terms with this awful news.
"We are still in the early stages of the investigation and are working to establish exactly what happened.
“A number of crime scenes will remain in place while we carry out these urgent enquiries.
“I believe there were a number of people at the house in Henley Road at the time of the shooting and I would encourage them to come forward as a matter of urgency.”
According to neighbours, a man wearing a “black Joker mask” was seen fleeing through the gardens close to the crime scene.
Others claimed that the gunshots were masked by Diwali fireworks and the sound of screams in the area has become normal.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
Crime scenes and road closures are in place. Any witnesses or those with information, video or images that could assist police, should call 101 or tweet @MetCC ref CAD 99/25 Oct.
