A man from Dagenham who carried out a “disturbing” attack on a stranger at Liverpool Street station has appeared in court.
Dikedi Ezeanyika, 43, committed the random attack just a short time after he had attacked another stranger with a bottle.
Ezeanyika, of Oval Road South, appeared at Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday (July 26) after he was convicted of assault.
However, the sentencing hearing was adjourned to allow a psychiatric report to take place.
Before adjourning the sentence, Judge Cole told Ezeanyika: “These are a disturbing set of offences, I’ve seen the videos including a random attack on a stranger at Liverpool Street station, which is extremely disturbing.
“That attack followed hot on the heels of another random attack on a stranger using a bottle. I’m not prepared to sentence you until I’ve seen a report into your mental health.”
Ezeanyika asked the judge: “Could I not just be committed to the community?”
Judge Cole replied: “No. In one word, no. These matters will be dealt with by a hospital order or a lengthy determinate sentence.”
