A man has died after he was hit by a car.
Emergency services rushed to Ley Street, at the junction of Benton Road in Ilford, on Sunday (March 17) at 12.18am.
A man, 46, was found with life-threatening injuries after the pedestrian was hit.
He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later. The Metropolitan Police say his next of kin has been informed.
While the car left the scene before police arrived, officers found the car, a Range Rover, at a garage in Ilford.
A woman, 28, and a man, 29, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have been taken into custody.
Any witnesses or whoever was driving in the Ley Street area at the time of the crash is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 44/17Mar. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
