A skull and bones have been found in a cemetery in Manor Park and will be tested to see if they are human.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police have been at the scene since 9.14am this morning (April 8) after receiving a call reporting that remains had been found.
The grim discovery was made inside the City of London Cemetery in Aldersbrook Road.
Forensics officials have been pictured at the scene, and a crime scene is in place cordoning off an area of the graveyard.
The bones and skull have been sent away for analysis to determine whether or not they are human.
Tests will also be run to confirm their age, and whether or not they are recent or historic.
