I went for dinner at a restaurant in Covent Garden where tango dancers twirl between tables as you dine. 

Located in the heart of London's iconic Covent Garden and just mere steps from the underground station, Gaucho is a great place for an evening meal when you're in the area. 

I had never eaten at a Gaucho restaurant before but had heard good things. It's safe to say that after my visit, I understand why!

Although located in bustling Covent Garden, once inside you easily forget about the chaos outside the restaurant's doors. 

A cloak closet at the entrance ensures you can enjoy your meal without worrying about jackets and bags. 

The lighting inside was warm and inviting, with an illuminated bar welcoming you in. 

I went with my boyfriend and we had a few cocktails upstairs before making our way to the basement level for our meal. 

We both had a margarita with chimichurri salt, which proved to be the perfect refreshment after our climb up the 193 steps at the station (if you know, you know).

I love a cocktail with a bit of heat and my boyfriend, who isn't typically a fan, thoroughly enjoyed his too. 

I then opted for the kiwi gimlet made with gin and fresh kiwi cordial which was sweet and crisp.

My boyfriend ordered the prawn aguachile with avocado, grilled corn, orange and herbs in a ponzu dressing to start, saying it was "great palate cleanser". 

I opted for the superstraccia salad with orange, fennel and basil which was light and fresh.

My boyfriend ordered himself a steak. He chose the chorizo sirloin steak with crackling and fries which was the highlight of all the courses for him.

The flavour of the chimichurri sauce that came with the steak blew him away.

The dancers were elegant and it was a marvel to witness as they twirled across the restaurant floor, weaving between tables. 

They performed a number of times, even changing outfits between dances.

You could not help but watch in awe. 

After the entertainment was over, it came time to order dessert. 

My boyfriend decided to try their dulce de leche cheesecake with toasted marshmallow to finish off our evening. 

He said the dessert was creamy and decadent, and ate it so quickly I didn't get the chance to get a photo. 

Between the good food and the beautiful entertainment, it was definitely a meal to remember. 

I can certainly say I have never had a meal in London quite like it.
