Armed police swarmed an Ilford home after reports of a man with a machete.
Officers were called to Sixth Avenue in Ilford on Saturday (November 16) at around 5.50pm after being alerted to a man entering a property with a weapon.
After arriving at the scene, a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and common assault.
He was taken into custody where he remains.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “At around 5.50pm on Saturday, 16 November police were alerted to a man entering a property in Sixth Avenue E14 in possession of a machete.
“Officers, including armed officers, attended the address. The man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and common assault. He was taken into custody where he remains.
“A man at the property was assaulted but received no injuries. Enquiries continue.”
